Listen Good Youth - Youth Empowerment Through Academics, Mentoring, and Sports
Listen Good Youth is a product of a vision realized by Derrick Russell. Mr. Russell served twelve years in federal correctional facilities, being rehabilitated for his leadership and involvement in gang and drug activity associated with the Short North Posse in 1995.

He was released in 2007 and revived with a new focus to prevent youth from gang and drug involvement in the Columbus, Ohio community.  Since that time, Mr. Russell has devoted his time speaking to youth about gangs and drug prevention at schools, recreational centers, detention centers and on the streets.

Mr. Russell serves as a mentor for adolescents and young adults returning to the community after incarceration.
His passion for youth empowerment has continued to be the driving force of the organization.
